The Peninsula Quarry

Hello Quarry Faithful,

It is with sadness that we announce that The Peninsula Quarry will not be opening for the 2025 season. C and G's Heritage Farms, LLC, has declined to renew our lease for this season. While we understand the property is currently up for sale, we are unaware of specific reasons that we cannot continue to operate under these circumstances as we have for the last two seasons. However, we operate on the grounds at their will and do not have recourse at this point.

The original not-for-profit, Boston Township Community Service League, has been in existence since 1955, doing business as The Peninsula Quarry. It was started by the community in an effort to make the oft-used swimming hole was safe for residents. We are still operating under the original not-for-profit charter. Our primary goal for now 70 years has been to maintain and operate the Quarry as a swim beach, keeping swimmers safe.

We feel it is important to state that BTCSL, the non-profit company, is solvent and functioning as required to fulfill our mission. We were preparing the grounds already this spring when our lease renewal was declined. We have removed all usable assets from the grounds at this point, putting them into long-term storage as possible. Unfortunately we cannot do anything about the structures we have built at our own expense over the years, but such is being the lessee. We thank our Quarry friends who are helping providing storage for the picnic tables. We are currently in the process of closing accounts, reducing expenses as much as possible, and preparing to go into a dormancy period with the BTCSL. We will maintain our registrations and continue to file 990's annually. Knowing the property has a new owner in its future, we will wait to see who it is and if that party is interested in our services to the community once more.

Until then, thank you to the greater Cuyahoga Valley community, the families who have come so often, the kids who have grown up here, our lifeguards and snack shack managers and most importantly all, of the volunteers who have given so much time and energy over the years to make it all happen. There are few special places like this in the world. We hope The Quarry has left an enduring impression on each of you.
